Spring Clean-Up and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Day

When it rains, stormwater runoff picks up then discharges pollutants into our streams, rivers, and ponds. By removing motor oil, paint, pesticides, and household cleaners from the waste stream, we can help protect our local waterways.

Spring Clean-Up and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Day will be held together on Saturday, May 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the D.P.W. Garage on Cohoes Avenue.  This service is for GREEN ISLAND RESIDENTS ONLY. Clean Up will be limited to one pickup truck load or two SUV/station wagonloads for the MONTH, not each week.  HHW will be taken as stated. Residents will be required to sign a form stating that the HHW and refuse came from their residence.  PLEASE NOTE THAT PROPANE TANKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the D.P.W. Garage at 273-5565 or the Village Office at 273-220l.
